Kingdom Rush Vengeance: Tower Defense Game – Another Master Piece by IronHide

Kingdom Rush Vengeance, the fourth installment of this tower defense hit for mobiles, introduces new heroes, new towers, and, above all, a huge number of new challenges.

Story

After his last adventure, the dark sorcerer Vez’Nan had only one objective: to take a good bath and rest in your beloved tower of evil. However, an unexpected turn of events will find her at the center of a theme park, something that if many of us felt bad enough, it’s possible to find will provoke her anger and search for vengeance.

So begins the amusing story of this IronHide game, in which we must try to assemble our army, and conquer the vast map presented to us

Gameplay

To do this, we’ll be facing numerous waves of enemies with the help of different towers and our magical powers. In this way, each map will present us with different distributions of roads and spaces to build our towers.

For every enemy we defeat, we’ll get more gold to invest in building new towers, upgrading existing ones, and even demolishing and changing some of them to suit different enemies.

However, not everything will be focused on trying to exterminate our enemies, and it’s that we’ll have to devote some of our attention and cunning to preventing enemy troops from crossing the map and thus, endangering the wizard.

News in a classic genre

Since Rampart’s first release in 1990, having been present even in other great classics such as Age of Empires II or Warcraft 3, it seems that this genre never goes out of fashion, despite being able to offer a little more in terms of innovation.

So, being the fourth opus in this saga, Kingdom Rush Vengeance has chosen to keep its aesthetic while betting on the humorous dialogues and comments of their previous games, with the occasional pearl-like, when displaying certain counters, hearing complaints like “I hate this job … ”.

Features

Other new features of this adventure will be 16 Phases in three different scenarios; 9 different Hero Units, each with different powers and stats; 10 consumable items available; and 16 types of tricks we’ll need to combine to deal with the 35+ new enemies.

However, if you think the game might be short, don’t be fooled. That’s right, in addition to 4 game difficulties, which even in normal mode already offer the occasional headache, each level will have three additional challenge modes.

If what we’re interested in is the story, we’ll just have to complete one level to access the next, but if what we want are challenges, first we’ll have to unlock the three stars in each phase to unlock your extra modes.

Equipment and Powers

During the game, by defeating enemies we’ll get so much gold, which we can use to upgrade towers; as well as small amounts of gems, which we can use to buy new heroes or consumables.

In turn, we’ll also get experience points, exclusively geared towards our hero in use, with which we can level him up, unlocking parallel points with which to learn and improve your unique skills.

But not only will our character level up. As we earn stars by completing phases, we’ll also earn special points to consume an ability tree for our wizard.

This board will therefore be divided into four branches that will vary according to our play style, being able to upgrade towers and heroes and units, or our own powers.

Points will be limited, so we won’t be able to complete all branches at once, but we will have the infinite option of restoring the entire tree to re-customize it from scratch.

The Pay to Play

While it’s true that today’s micro-payment model and the existence of different coins and gems (obtainable through play or payment) is fairly standardized, limiting much of the content to payment in real currency is excessive.

These gems can be used in-game to buy heroes and new towers, and while some can be obtained during gameplay, it’s a very tedious process, being essentially geared towards your purchase.

However, we won’t be forced to go through the box to complete Kingdom Rush Vengeance, and since this is a single-player game, we won’t suffer from the decompensation that this type of content can imply in other online multiplayer games.

Disadvantages

The first problem arises when we realize that if we avoid additional payments we won’t be able to unlock all the game’s content: of the 16 towers available, five will be linked exclusively to payments; something even worse in the case of the heroes, that with nine available in total, six of them will be paid for.

This brings us to the second problem: you can’t talk about micropayments themselves. And that is the price of this content will vary from 4 dollars to 9 dollars, which would mean a total outlay of over 70 dollars to unlock 100% of the game.

Kingdom Rush Vengeance is now available on any Android and iOS Google Play Store device or the Apple Storeoui, under the price of 6 dollars in the former, and 7 dollars in the latter, sharing that yes a user rating of 4.8 out of 5 in both stores.
